Biography
I enjoy photographing objects and places that have been left behind in time and social change. These places and objects have survived while the rest of the world carries on with out them. From a pair of NHS chairs abandoned to face the elements outside a disused hospital, to the vivid yellow 1970s brick work of a run down shopping centre, I think there can be beauty and humanity in all things.
Within my work I have found that my images are depopulated and cold; there is little human interaction with the subject, but strong evidence that the places and objects once told a different story.
A subject that subtly places out through the majority of my work is regeneration. I rarely photograph the outcome of these new projects, but take interest in the areas that don’t become gentrified. I like to feel where people have once been and see what remains of their past through the interaction with their surroundings.
Colour is a major part of my work. It reflects the realism and in many cases the pedestrianism of my imagery.
I have built up an extensive body of portraits and models' portfolios. Colour plays out through many of them, making them bold and vibrant.
